Suggester says: "He's created the most surreal dress I've ever seen -- the scene as a whole has a gorgeously spooky mood, like a cross between Labyrinth and Pan's Labyrinth."

Haha, okay.

So what inspired this piece? Was there music or something that drove you? A random dream?

I'm always so fascinated by what people create, and what inspires them. It's a beautiful thing.

Hey Jessica- That's tough to answer...especially in a small DA reply box. I will try to give the most summarized, brief and concise answer I can without being to long-winded:

The first thing I must mention is that in personal works (which this is ) is that I never try to get a literal or linear translation from visual image to the written word. My personal work is definitely inspired by abstract ideas.
To sum this one up in just a few words - it's about emotional contamination, and almost an anti-existential quality in human nature. The inspiration definitely comes from my daydreaming / regular dreaming as well. You are right about that.I shudder when I read this back, because it sounds so damn pretentious . Thanks for asking though - I hope this is a somewhat satisfactory answer. I feel so vulnerable now ;)

That's a fantastic answer. And an absolutely beautiful concept. :rose: Thank you for responding. I can see all of the emotion in it.. but at the same time when I first saw it, it was strange to me because it felt so full of life and death.. but also it felt very nostalgic and almost hollow. It's a hauntingly beautiful work. Thank you for sharing it.

Thanks dude- I was reluctant at first to say anything but I must admit it was kind of nice to revisit the impetus of that piece. Especially since I've been so busy with the "commercial "work, makes me hungry to get back to some personal pieces. So thank you for asking...I appreciate it.
Now ..... to be fair....I'll get to ask you next time what inspires you ;)
Take care homie-S.
